About me

My Name is Carrie and I live in Leicestershire with my husband, 2 children and our 2 tabby cats, Raven and Aurora.

I am a Library Administrator by day and illustrator by night, hoping one day to be a well loved children's illustrator.

I love to illustrate for children, and drawing is something which has always been a passion for me. From an early age, I would sit and draw for hours trying to recreate the pictures I saw in the books I had on my shelf. This passion led me to study a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. More recently I have attended professional practice days with Orange Beak and I have completed a CPD course in Writing story books for children.

I really enjoy illustrating in collage. Using collage allows me to experiment with the textures and patterns of the paper and relinquish some control over to the paper’s unique qualities to create interesting details in my illustrations. I have a strong desire to learn and I like to challenging myself in order to strengthen my illustrative style and appeal to children, publishers and authors alike.

What I've done
